Are Lumecca IPL photofacials painful?

A Lumecca IPL photofacial requires no advance preparation or any form of anesthesia. A numbing cream can reduce sensations in the treatment area.

As your provider moves the treatment handpiece over your skin, you feel a sensation like the snap of a rubber band as the device sends pulses of light into your skin. 

After your session, your skin might feel warm and more tender than normal, similar to the feeling of a mild sunburn. These sensations should fade within a few hours, and you can lessen them with over-the-counter pain medication. 

How many Lumecca IPL photofacial treatments will I need to see optimal results?
